Hardin's Wholesale Florist, Inc.is a unique third generation family-owned business that began with a woman's love of art and flowers. It has grown to be the Carolina's largest complete source for cut flowers, potted plants, pre-made arrangements and floral supplies.

The business began in 1934, when Myrtle Hardin began growing flowers in her yard and making her own floral arrangements. In 1940, a retail florist shop was built. By 1944, the first greenhouse was built by her husband, Wade, and their sons, William and Paul. More greenhouses were added and filled with mums, roses, Easter lilies and poinsettias. The retail shop doubled in size. With the business expanding and an abundance of homegrown flowers, Paul started a truck route selling flowers and floral supplies to nearby florist. In 1976, William's oldest son, Billy, came into the business to manage the newly completed warehouse. He continues the tradition of growing and delivering quality flowers and plants.

Hardin's state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot headquarters includes a warehouse for floral supplies, a 3,100 square foot cut flower refrigerator, a 6,000 square foot designer showroom, a 8,000 square foot greenhouse for customers to see samples of each product being grown, and a pre-made arrangements department. The entire inventory includes over 14,000 items, 250 plant varieties and 150 cut flower and green varieties . The greenhouses total 260,000 square feet over 6 acres. Each route our fleet of trucks travels covers a 250-mile radius, within the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. We also ship throughout the United States.

During the Christmas season, Hardin's poinsettias are well known locally and have decorated the White House in Washington, D.C.
